The Bible is my Standard, the ultimate truth that all should live by. |
Sure, the Bible's a good book with some good stories and morals. But that's all, it is in no way truth. Morality cannot be defined by a book, or by any God. The only ultimate standard is the one a person sets for themselves. |
| The wages of sin is death. | There's no such thing as sin, and there is no such place as Hell. Sin is defined by the individual. |
| The Bible is my inspired Word. | The Bible was written by a bunch of people thousands of years ago. It has been through tons of interpretations and probably lost a lot of its original meaning. It cannot be trusted, you cannot believe in it. |
| The morals of the Bible are there not because I am cruel, but because I love you like a Father loves you. They are there for your own good. | The morals of the Bible do not work for today's society. |
| My laws are clearly outlined in the Bible, my book, which I have given to you to guide you. | It's not really sin, you can bend the rules a little. Besides, times have changed. |
| No man comes unto the father unless they come through Christ. | There's more than one way to get to Heaven. Just do good, don't worry about religion, you can beat the system. |
| I am the same yesterday, today, and forever. | Society has changed, the morals and laws of the Bible are old, they have no place in our modern world. The Bible worked a long time ago, but some of it does not apply to the times we are living in. |
| The Bible is my Word, it is the book of life. My ultimate, and perfect standard. | The Bible can't be taken literally. It was written thousands of years ago! It means something different now, you make it fit your lifestyle and your opinions. The Bible is a very flexible book which can be molded to shape everything and everyone's views. |
| I am one God, with one Bible, one standard, one moral code, and one way to receive salvation. | All the religions are the same, they talk about the same God, all their moral codes lead to the same ending. It doesn't matter which one a person is a member of, everybody makes it to Heaven. |
| From the time you were in your mother's womb I had a plan for you. | Life begins at birth. A fetus has no feelings, it is not real. Besides, it's more of a parasite and why should a mother have to live with something she can't care for. |
| Sex is reserved for man and woman, as I created you. Un-natural sexual relations lead to disease and death. | Love is love, whether it is between people of the same sex or man and donkey. Besides that, homosexuality is a genetic disease that you are born with. |
| Sex is meant as a bond between husband and wife, it is not special any other way. | There is no "right time" let your feelings tell you when it's right. |
| Jesus is my only son, He was born from a virgin, performed real miracles, was crucified for your sins, and was resurrected. | Jesus was nothing more than a good person. He had some good teachings about life and was no more than a philosopher. |
| Choose you this day... Who will you serve? | Look out for yourself because no one else will. |
| Honor me and keep my Commandments | They are old, they don't work anymore. |
| When you are afraid, trust in me. | How do you know he's listening? Think about it. A God of all the universe has time for a puny little man such as you? I think not! |
| Store your treasures in Heaven, not on earth. | If you've got the money (or the credit) spend it. |
| Pray, asking anything you wish, and I will respond in my own way, on my own time. All will be given to you if you trust in me. | God's tired of you always asking for something. |
| I am greater than all other "gods." | Except me. |
| Reach out to me and I will reach into your soul and change your heart. I can make you see the person I created you to be. I can show you who you are. | Look to me and I will show you a good time and show you how to transform yourself into what others want you to be. |
